Agartala: The chief ministers of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, and Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, are expected to visit Tripura on August 27 to inaugurate the newly constructed Shanti Kali Temple.

The Shanti Kali Temple is located at Barkathal village in Mohanpur sub-division of West district in Tripura

Former Tripura MP Rebati Tripura spoke to reporters on Sunday about the event, stating that a review meeting was held, chaired by Padma Shri awardee and Tripura's spiritual leader Chittaranjan Maharaj, to discuss the inauguration.

The meeting was attended by Tripura tribal welfare minister Bikas Debbarma, transport and tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury, and Rebati Tripura.

"Today, we held a meeting at the Barkathal Shanti Kali Temple to discuss the preparations for the inauguration on August 27," he said.

The Tripura minister added: "Chittaranjan Maharaj chaired the review meeting, and we discussed the arrangements for the arrival of the Chief Ministers of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, and Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, along with Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha."

He further mentioned that during the consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir, Chittaranjan Maharaj extended an invitation to the UP chief minister to visit Tripura.

"Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma has already confirmed his attendance, and we are awaiting confirmation from the UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. We believe he will also attend," he added.
