Agartala: Tripura Police have recovered three dead bodies in separate incidents across the state on Sunday, one of which had already undergone a post-mortem.

According to police sources, the body of Chittaranjan Das (70) was found in a forest near Dhaleshwar in Agartala.

Das, a resident of Ambassa in Dhalai District, sold vegetables in the Dhaleshwar area and lived in Agartala with his two sons.

Locals believe he had entered the forest to collect leaves, as was his routine. In the afternoon, they discovered him lying dead and informed the police, who then sent the body to GB Pant Hospital morgue for a post-mortem examination.

In a separate incident in Sabroom, South District, the body of a teacher named Swapna Chakma was found hanging.

She lived in a rented house, and the discovery was made by her housemates on Saturday night.

Police from the Manu-Bankul outpost under Sabroom police station are investigating the incident and have recovered the body.

Additionally, a body that had already undergone a post-mortem was found in the Manu River in the Kailashahar Kaulikura Ward No 5 under Unakoti District area this morning.

Locals noticed the body covered with a cloth in the river and alerted the police. Kailashahar Police Station OC Shyamal Kanti Majumdar confirmed that the body had previously been examined, but stated that it would undergo another post-mortem for the sake of the investigation.
