Rashtrapati Nilayam to host program to showcase Northeast’s rich, diverse cultural heritage
Guwahati: The Rashtrapati Nilayam (President’s House) in collaboration with the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) and the Ministry of Culture will host the first edition of ‘Bharatiya Kala Mahotsav’ from September 29 to October 6, 2024.
The President will inaugurate the mahotsav on September 28, 2024.
The eight-day-long celebration will showcase the rich and diverse cultural heritage of the Northeastern states.
Visitors will get acquainted with the art, culture, crafts and culinary diversity of the eight Northeastern states – Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura and Sikkim.
More than 300 artists and artisans from these states would be participating in the event.
People will be able to visit the mahotsav between 10 am and 8 pm from September 29 to October 6, 2024.

The visitors would be able to reserve their slot by visiting the website- https://visit.rashtrapatibhavan.gov.in.
Entry to the mahotsav is free of cost. On-the-spot booking facility will also be available for the walk-in visitors at the Rashtrapati Nilayam located at Bolarum in Telangana’s Secunderabad.
The Rashtrapati Nilayam, formerly known as the Residency House, is the official winter retreat of the President of India.
It was officially opened to the public in March 2023 allowing the visitors to explore its vast grounds, thematic gardens and architectural marvels.
The President stays here for at least two weeks during their winter sojourn visit and conducts official business. It is also used as a guest house for visiting dignitaries.
