Manipur Police arrest female KCP-PWG cadre in Imphal West

Imphal: A joint team of Manipur police commandos and women police arrested an active female cadre of the outlawed Kangleipak Communist Party – People's War Group (KCP-PWG) on Monday, officials reported on Tuesday.

Khumanthem Promila Devi (22), a resident of Langthabal Khunou Khongjom, Thoubal district, currently residing in Keishampat, Imphal West district, was apprehended from Khumbong Bazar under Patsoi Police Station, Imphal West district.

She was reportedly involved in extorting money from the public.

Authorities seized the following items from her possession: a Suzuki Access two-wheeler bearing registration number MN06 SE 0325, a mobile phone, and a money bag containing a PAN card and an Aadhaar card.

The Manipur Police stated that they continued drives to curb motor vehicle offences and detained two vehicles for violating traffic rules. Additionally, they removed tinted films from three vehicles and issued 51 challans totaling Rs. 1,09,500 to offenders.

Meanwhile, security forces carried out search operations and area domination in fringe and vulnerable areas across the districts. Authorities also installed a total of 114 nakas/checkpoints in different districts of Manipur, covering both hill and valley regions.
