Upon initial inspection, the ever-alert troops of the AR identified the object as an explosive and sought immediate assistance from the bomb experts.

Responding without delay, a team from the bomb disposal and detection squad reached the site, secured the area, and initiated precautionary measures to safeguard nearby villages.

After meticulous preparation and risk assessment, the team successfully neutralized the explosive through a controlled detonation.

The Assam Rifles reported the case to the relevant police station, stating that they recovered five Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) during a routine patrol in the Pengpalep–Lokchao axis of Tengnoupal district, averting a serious threat.

Troops discovered an unusual underground structure, and a subsequent search revealed five IEDs concealed inside a specially built bunker.

A Bomb Disposal Team was deployed, confirmed the devices were live, and safely neutralized them, ensuring the area was fully sanitized.
