Imphal: The 37th raising day of the Manipur People’s Army (MPA) an armed group of the United National Liberation Front (UNLF-Pambei) which is currently under the peace talks with the governments at the center and state is observed on Friday (February 9, 2024).

As a part of the observance, in a message to the people, UNLF’s Military Affairs Committee (MAC) acting chairman M Nong-yai extended revolutionary salutes to its leaders, cadres, MPA officers, NCOs, and privates, who sacrificed their lives in the course of the liberation movement.

It also conveyed best wishes to all fraternal armed groups.

The MAC further states that it also paid respect to all those who have been killed in the course of the ongoing violent conflict that entered nine months in the state and conveyed solidarity to the bereaved families.

Over 200 individuals lost their lives in the protracted violence in the state that started on May 3, 2023.

Concerning the eluding peace, the outfit states that the Government of India holds the key to end the ongoing Kuki aggression into the state from Myanmar asserting that India can end the aggression at any time.

Alleging that all the Kuki armed groups operating in Manipur are patronized by the Government of India, the outfit states that the violent conflict that resulted from the Kuki aggression is a major strategy of India's geopolitics designed by the Home Ministry.
