Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Monday asked the Honda India Foundation to impart training to the people living in different hill districts to make them employed in the hospitality sector among the youths.

He was speaking as a chief guest at the launching of ‘Project Buniyaad — Aathmanirbharta Ka Aadhar’ at Classic Grande Hotel, Imphal on Monday.

Project Buniyaad, a Skill Development Programme on Hospitality Management by the Honda India Foundation along with the Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission and Visan Foundation aims to employ the unemployed youth from the marginal sections of society.

Under this programme, unemployed youth will receive two months of training from the Visan Foundation in Hospitality Management post which a certification will be provided by the Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council.

 The Chief Minister said that the youths from Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, Tengnoupal, Chandel, Senapati, and Tamenglong districts where the tribal community predominantly inhabited would also be imparted training to get their jobs either in the government or private sectors.

Singh was speaking against the backdrop of the prevailing crisis in the state where particular communities are restricted in their movements in their dominated districts.

Singh said that the present crisis is due to the survival of vitality due to the failure of the past politicians which led the preset generation insecure

He said the present government is for the present and future generations.

He affirmed that he would not let the future generation live in insecurity like the present generation and ensured the security of the future.

As a part of the function, hundreds of workers attended the programme.
