Five from Assam killed in accident in Tamil Nadu

A total of seven workers, including five from Assam, were killed in a road accident in Tamil Nadu.

CHENNAI: A total of seven workers, including five from Assam, were killed in a road accident in Tamil Nadu.

The accident took place on Monday (October 23) night at Tiruvannamalai district of Tamil Nadu.

While five of the dead workers were from Assam, two others were from Tamil Nadu.

The accident took place when a Tata Sumo car collided head-on with a government bus.

All the deceased, including the five from Assam, were workers at a factory near Hosur.

They met the accident while returning from Puducherry on the Ayudha Puja day.

The Tata Sumo car was carrying a total of 11 passengers.

The four injured passengers were admitted to Tiruvannamalai Government Medical College and Hospital.

The seven deceased men have been identified as: Bhimaltheerki (26), Niklas (22), Talu (26), Gunjsarayi (24), Narayanan Chetty (35), Kamaraj (29) and Narayan Chetty (35).

The four under treatment are: Pikesmurmu (29), Stephen Oro (43), Sadon Orang (25) and Gizmoth (32).
