PM Modi to unveil Rs 18,000 crore development projects in Assam

GUWAHATI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to unveil development projects worth Rs 18,000 crores during his forthcoming visit to Assam.

According to Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, PM Modi will arrive at Tezpur airport on Friday (March 08) evening before heading to the Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve, where he will spend the night.

“On Saturday (March 09) morning, the Prime Minister will explore the diverse biodiversity of Kaziranga, embarking on Jeep and elephant safaris starting at 5:30 am,” the Assam CM stated.

During his visit, PM Modi will inaugurate the newly constructed Tinsukia Medical College and lay the foundation stone for an upcoming medical college in Sivasagar district in Assam.

Additionally, he will launch expansion projects for the Guwahati Refinery and the Digboi Refinery, with costs estimated at Rs 510 crores and Rs 768 crores, respectively.

The inauguration of the Rs 3992 crore pipeline project, connecting Barauni to Guwahati, will also be a highlight of PM Modi's visit.

Furthermore, PM Modi has scheduled programs in Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday (March 09) as part of his itinerary.
