Assam: Yaba tablets worth Rs 1 crore seized in Karimganj
Guwahati: On the eve of Independence Day, a Border Security Force (BSF) team seized approximately Rs 1 crore worth of banned Yaba tablets near the Indo-Bangladesh border in Karimganj, Assam.
A BSF official said that acting on intelligence inputs, a team conducted a raid at the Chandshreekona Border Outpost on Wednesday evening.

During the operation, the team recovered 10,000 Yaba tablets from a passerby attempting to cross the barbed wire fence.

However, the suspected supplier(s) managed to escape under the cover of darkness. the official said.
It may be mentioned that Yaba, a potent drug combining methamphetamine and caffeine, poses a significant concern for border security agencies due to its popularity in Southeast Asia.
An investigation is being carried out.
