Assam: Three nabbed with heroin worth Rs 7 crore in Cachar

Guwahati: At least three men were nabbed by the police in different operations and seized suspected heroin worth Rs 7 crore in Silchar and Dholai of Cachar, Assam.

Police sources said that on Friday night a series of operations were initiated by a police team in Silchar and Dholai area based on specific inputs.

During the operation, the police seized nearly 1.2 kilograms of suspected heroin.

Of the quantity seized, at least 700 grams were found in Channighat of Dholai.

The drugs were hidden in 55 soap cases.

In another operation that took place in Sildubi near Silchar, two persons were nabbed with 45 soap cases filled with heroin.

The estimated weight of the drugs was 500 grams.

The two accused were identified as Kabir Ahmed Barbhuiyan and Rajiv Uddin Laskar.
