Guwahati: Assam police on Monday arrested a school teacher in Dhemaji district in connection with the suspected leak of the ADRE-2024 question paper, which was held on Sunday (September 15, 2024).

Mangal Singh Basumatary, the teacher arrested from Simen Chapori in Dhemaji, was working as a videographer at an exam center at Upendra National Academy in the area. Police suspect his involvement in the leak.

The question paper for the ADRE-2024 Higher Secondary Level 3rd Class Examination has been widely circulated on social media, raising serious concerns about the integrity of the exam process. Despite stringent security measures, the 90-page PDF document surfaced online, prompting questions about how it was leaked.

Questions remain about how the paper was leaked and whether it happened before or after the exam. If the leak occurred before the exam, it raises concerns about the transparency of the examination process. If leaked after, it points to a potential breach by an invigilator or government employee, despite the Assam government's efforts to maintain exam integrity, including internet bans.

The viral question paper, identified by booklet number 1035034, surfaced on social media just 24 hours after the exam. The Assam State Recruitment Board has yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.

Over 11,23,204 candidates appeared for the written examination for Grade III posts of the State Level Recruitment Commission (SLRC) on Sunday. The exam was conducted at 2,305 centers across Assam, with over 70,000 invigilators deployed.
