Assam: Man suspected of cattle smuggling killed in firing by BSF in Mankachar
Guwahati: A man suspected of being a cattle smuggler was reportedly killed in firing by a Border Security Force (BSF) team in Mankachar, Assam on Thursday.
As per sources, the deceased has been identified as Shahinur Islam (26).
The deceased was a resident of Char Kukurmara village of the district.

According to initial reports, the suspected person tried to escape from the BSF before he was shot.
While the BSF tried to only contain him with the firing, Islam was hit fatally and died before any medical assistance could arrive.

The incident took place in the Kukurmara area near the Indo-Bangladesh border.
Further investigation is being carried out.
