Assam: Ferry services between Nimati-Majuli suspended due to rough weather

Guwahati: Ferry services between Nimati and Majuli in Assam have been suspended for today, May 28th, and tomorrow, May 29th, due to severe weather conditions.

The decision came to give safety for passengers and crew members in the face of dangerously high waves and fluctuating water levels caused by cyclonic weather.

The Inland Water Transport Department (IWTD) made the announcement to halt all ferry operations as a precautionary measure.

The concerned district administration is also closely monitoring the situation and will announce the resumption of services once it is safe to do so.
