Assam: Eight ill after consuming unknown mushrooms in Golaghat

Guwahati: At least eight people fell ill in Golaghat, Assam on Saturday after they allegedly consumed unknown mushrooms.

The incident took place in the Uriamghat area of Golaghat, Assam earlier on Saturday.

All of their conditions have been reported to be critical and they are currently admitted to the SKK Civil Hospital in Golaghat.

They reportedly consumed the unknown mushrooms from the forest area.

It was further reported that one of the persons had been transferred to Jorhat for better medical care.

The people currently lodged at the hospital include Babita Khakalari, Champa Khakalari, Sita Khakalari, Manisha Khakalari, Hira Mana Garh, Maheshwar Garh, Dilman Garh, and Lokeshwari Garh.
