Assam: Dhakuakhana College gets autonomous status
Lakhimpur: A significant milestone was reached for Dhakuakhana College in Assam's Lakhimpur district as it was granted autonomous status by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
The decision was announced in a letter dated September 4, 2024, addressed to the Registrar of Dibrugarh University.
The autonomy will be effective for a period of ten years, from 2024-25 to 2033-34. This achievement is a testament to the college's consistent academic excellence and commitment to quality education.
Dhakuakhana College has a history of academic success, having been awarded an 'A' Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in September 2023 with a CGPA of 3.06. Prior to that, it had received 'B' and 'C++' grades in 2016 and 2004, respectively.
The conferment of autonomous status is expected to further enhance Dhakuakhana College's reputation and provide it with greater flexibility in academic and administrative matters.
It is a proud moment for the college's faculty, staff, students, and the entire community of Lakhimpur district.
