Guwahati: The Assam Police have arrested another escaped prisoner of the Morigaon District Jail from Andhra Pradesh on Sunday.

Police sources said that the prisoner identified as Ziarul Islam was part of a five-member group that escaped from the Morigaon Jail on October 11.

He was arrested by the police from Andhra Pradesh's Tirupati district.

This comes after Saifuddin, another escaped prisoner, was re-captured on October 26 from the Nagaon Stand area under the Morigaon Sadar Police Station.

It may be mentioned five prisoners broke free from the jail barracks on October 11.

Of the five, one of the escapees, Abdul Rashid, was found dead in a pond in Lahorighat on October 14.

After the discovery of the dead body, the police launched a search operating and succeeded in recapturing two others.

However, two others are still said to be absconding.

They have been identified as Mafidul Islam and Nur Islam.

The police suspect that these two might as well be hiding somewhere in South India.
