Assam: 1st Slug Fest Cricket Championship concludes at Jatinga
Haflong: A group of enthusiastic youths under the Slug Fest Committee organized the inaugural 'Slug Fest Cricket Championship 2025' at Jatinga playground near Haflong, which began on 1st December, aiming to ignite the sports spirit across Dima Hasao district in Assam.
In the thrilling final match on Saturday afternoon, Hills Rider defeated Night Hawks by 37 runs. The victorious Hills Rider team received a cash prize of Rs 80,000 and a trophy, while the runners-up Night Hawks were awarded Rs 40,000 and a trophy.
Slug Fest Committee President Ardour Lourance Pala emphasized the event's purpose: "This tournament provides a platform for cricket and sports enthusiasts in the region while instilling a sense of sportsmanship in the younger generation."
The championship concluded amid cheers, with participants and organizers calling for more such initiatives to nurture grassroots sports.
