Assam: Wildlife trafficker arrested with tiger teeth in Chirang

Guwahati: A man was arrested for his alleged involvement in wildlife trafficking in Chirang, Assam on Wednesday.

Police said that the accused has been identified as 34-year-old Taijuddin Sheikh.

He was arrested for allegedly selling illegal wildlife body parts in the Ballimari area, under the Panbari Police Station jurisdiction.

Sources informed that forest officials and the police recovered two tiger teeth and deer antlers from Sheikh's residence.

Sources that the police are currently investigating the matter and checking where the accused got possession of the animal parts.
