Assam: Migrant worker from Lakhimpur found dead in Visakhapatnam

North Lakhimpur: In yet another incident of insecurity of migrant workers from Assam working outside the state, a man from Lakhimpur district was found dead in Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.

Nipen Kalita (46), a father of three and son of Durllav Kalita and Sarumai Kalita of Ghagar Nagar under Bogeenadi Police Station was found dead near Dharam Nagar railway gate under Kancharapalem Police Station in Visakhapatnam on Sunday evening.

Kalita, who was travelling by train from Guwahati to Bengaluru on April 29, went missing from Vizag railway station on May 1.

 His wife, Anjumani Kalita has already filed an FIR on her husband’s disappearance at Chawuldhowa Police Outpost.

The news of his demise has come as a shock from the family members.

The circumstances in which the death occurred are being investigated by the police in Visakhapatnam.
