Assam: Guwahati man killed in accident, murder suspected

Guwahati: A man in Guwahati, Assam died in an alleged hit-and-run accident on Friday night.

The deceased was identified as Saibuddin Ahmed, a resident of the Santipur area, reports stated.

He was killed in an accident near the Shantipur Sluice gate area in Guwahati city on Friday night.

He was returning home when a vehicle, not yet identified, hit him from behind and fled.

Ahmed died on the spot before any medical assistance could arrive.

However, some of the locals claimed that the vehicle ran over Ahmed on purpose.

His family has also suspected the incident to be a possible murder and has demanded an investigation.

The police have launched a probe and are investigating the entire matter including murder angle.
