Pakistan: Jaffar Express derails after blast in Balochistan's Mastung
Guwahati: Jaffar Express in Pakistan derailed after a blast in Balochistan's Mastung, rescue operations are underway for trapped passengers.
Visuals from the site showed passengers, including women and children, being pulled out of mangled carriages as rescue tea.
The blast happened in just hours after Pakistani security forces conducting a railway track clearance operation in the same area were targeted with explosives.
As per local media one carriage overturned while two others went off the track.
Many passengers suffered injuries and were rushed to nearby hospitals after rescue teams and ambulances were dispatched from Quetta.
There are reports "that the derailment occurred just hours after Pakistani forces carrying out a railway track clearance operation in the same area were attacked with explosives, leaving several casualties. It remains unclear whether the two incidents are connected."
An investigation has been launched to identify those responsible.
Not a sngle group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack. The number of injured passengers has not been officially confirmed.
