Protests erupted after the news of the boy's death, leading to the burning of shops and establishments.
To control the situation, police and paramilitary forces were deployed. Dhalai District Magistrate Saju Vaheed assured that the situation is now under control.
Vaheed attributed the unrest partly to social media messages inciting violence.

As a precautionary measure, Section 144, which prohibits the assembly of more than four people, was imposed in the sub-division.
The incident stemmed from a minor altercation at a fair on July 7 that escalated into a physical clash, injuring the boy. He later died while undergoing treatment.
Four individuals have been arrested in connection with the scuffle and are in judicial custody.
