Guwahati: Two Border Security Force (BSF) personnel were injured on Friday when a mob attacked their vehicle in Bishalgarh in Tripura's Sepahijala district, about 23 km from Agartala.

The BSF vehicle was badly damaged in the attack, which took place in the New Market area of the town.

The injured jawans were taken to a hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

According to police, the violence began after the BSF vehicle accidentally hit a private car, which then collided with an e-rickshaw.

This led to public anger, and the mob allegedly began attacking the BSF vehicle.

Police have started an investigation and are examining CCTV footage to identify those involved. No arrests have been made yet.

Senior BSF officials visited the area and coordinated with local police over the matter.

BSF sources said that although the troops were attacked, they did not retaliate to avoid harming civilians at the scene.
