Tripura: Tiprasa accord to shape new phase of indigenous, says Pradyot
Agartala: Tipra Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma has declared that the Tiprasa Accord will take centre stage in the party's efforts to secure the rights and upliftment of the indigenous community in Tripura.
His statement comes after the peace accord between two major insurgent groups — the National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) and the All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF) — with the Central Government, marking an end to decades of armed rebellion.
The peace agreement, which was signed in New Delhi in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, is being hailed as a significant milestone for the indigenous people of Tripura. Pradyot, who witnessed the signing, underscored the importance of this accord for the future of Tripura's indigenous community.
"For 35 years, the NLFT and ATTF have been fighting for the rights of the indigenous people, not against India, but for our rightful place in this country," Pradyot said.
He added, "Today, their sacrifices have been recognized, and the government has committed to addressing our genuine concerns and demands."
Pradyot explained that the focus will now shift towards fulfilling the political and constitutional demands set out in the Tiprasa Accord, signed earlier on March 4.
This accord, he emphasized, is a roadmap for the upliftment of Tripura’s indigenous population and a step towards unity and progress for future generations.
"The Tiprasa Accord is not just about peace; it’s about ensuring that our voices are heard and that our community thrives politically, economically, and socially. We are committed to moving forward as a united community," he added.
