Tripura: Three youths killed in head-on motorcycle collision

According to Jolaibari police, the motorcycles were travelling at high speed from opposite directions, one towards Belonia and the other towards Jolaibari, when they collided head-on.

Guwahati: Three youths died when two motorcycles collided on Wednesday in West Pilak Colony along the Jolaibari–Belonia National Highway in Tripura’s South District.

The deceased have been identified as Biplab Shil Sharma (23) and Prasanna Dutta (28), along with a minor, all residents of Pilak.

Fire and Emergency Service personnel recovered the bodies following the accident.

According to Jolaibari police, the motorcycles were travelling at high speed from opposite directions, one towards Belonia and the other towards Jolaibari, when they collided head-on.

The riders, along with one pillion passenger, were thrown onto the road.

The three identified riders were declared dead on the spot by doctors at Jolaibari Community Health Centre.

The pillion rider on the minor’s bike, whose identity is not yet confirmed, sustained critical injuries and has been referred to GBP Hospital in Agartala.

A case has been registered, and authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
