Tripura governor emphasizes on agricultural research
AGARTALA: Tripura governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu visited the state agriculture research station at Arundhatinagar in Agartala city of Tripura highlighting the importance of advancing research efforts in the development of innovative seed varieties.
Upon his arrival, Tripura governor IS Reddy received a warm welcome from Uttam Saha, the joint director of the station, and engaged in discussions with officials on agricultural matters at the conference hall.
A documentary showcasing the station's initiatives was presented, offering valuable insights into its ongoing programs.
Subsequently, the Tripura governor embarked on a tour of various facilities, including the seed museum, demonstration cultivation areas, and specialized laboratories.
Following the visit, the Tripura governor briefed the media, emphasizing the critical role of research in national development.
He stated, “The progress of a nation depends significantly on robust research endeavours. To ensure the prosperity of our state, we must prioritize research to avoid stagnation.”
Tripura governor IS Reddy acknowledged the station's longstanding service of 70 years, highlighting the state's commitment to fostering agricultural innovation.
He added, “Efforts are underway to develop new seed varieties that will benefit farmers and enhance agricultural productivity.”
