Tripura government employee held with drugs worth Rs 1.50 lakh

Agartala: August 05. Tripura Police on Monday arrested a government employee and seized heroin worth Rs 1.50 lakh from Dharmanagar sub-division in the North District.

Speaking with reporters, North District Superintendent of Police Bhanupada Chakraborty said that, acting on a tip-off, police conducted a raid and arrested Mamin Ali along with his bike from Dharmanagar.

“We received information that a person named Mamin Ali, a government employee, was involved in drug trafficking. He was reportedly selling drugs around Dharmanagar city. Based on the tip-off, we detained him and seized 12 grams of heroin, along with some vials. We have arrested him and registered a case against him,” said the SP.

He further informed that the market value of the seized drugs is approximately Rs. 1.50 lakh.
