Tripura: Finance Minister chairs pre-Budget review meetings
Agartala: The Tripura government has initiated pre-Budget consultations ahead of the Budget Session of the State Assembly, which is scheduled to commence on March 13.
Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy on Monday chaired a series of meetings at the Civil Secretariat with members of the Council of Ministers and senior officials to review departmental expenditures and finalise allocations for the 2026–27 financial year, official sources said.
The discussions focused on the Revised Estimates for 2025–26 and the proposed Budget Estimates for 2026–27. Projected revenue receipts and expenditure outlays across key sectors were examined as part of the preparatory exercise.
Separate meetings were held with ministers overseeing major departments, including Public Works, Health, Industries and Commerce, Higher Education, Tribal Welfare, Transport, Tourism, Food and Civil Supplies, Youth Affairs and Sports, Labour, and General Administration.
Sources indicated that the consultations aim to align departmental proposals with fiscal commitments and prioritise spending in line with the government’s policy objectives before the presentation of the State Budget later this month.
The Budget is expected to outline the government’s roadmap for resource mobilisation, development spending and sectoral growth for the upcoming financial year.
