Tripura: Drowning incident claims life of woman in Khowai

AGARTALA: A tragedy unfolded on Tuesday (May 21) morning at Old Tabla Bari under Khowai district in Tripura, as a 50-year-old woman, Parampati Debbarma, tragically drowned.

The incident occurred in a pond within her residence, falling under the jurisdiction of the Khowai police station in Tripura.

According to reports, Parampati had gone to the pond early in the morning, where irrigation work was underway.

Unfortunately, she slipped and fell into the water. With no one around to assist her and unable to swim, she drowned.

Concerned family members, noticing her prolonged absence, immediately contacted the authorities.

The fire brigade responded swiftly, rushing to the scene to rescue Parampati.

Despite their efforts, she was pronounced dead upon arrival at Khowai district hospital in Tripura.

Upon being informed of the incident, authorities from Khowai police station in Tripura initiated an investigation into the death.
