Tripura CM Manik Saha reviews Matabari Tourist Circuit project with Union Minister Scindia
Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Tuesday held a review meeting with Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Jyotiraditya M. Scindia to discuss the proposed Matabari Tourist Circuit project, aimed at boosting tourism in the state.
The proposed tourist circuit has been conceptualised as a four-night, five-day itinerary covering key destinations such as Agartala, Neermahal, Sepahijala, Udaipur, Chabimura, and Dumboor, highlighting Tripura’s rich natural landscapes, cultural heritage, and spiritual significance.
Official sources said the meeting focused on strategies to enhance connectivity, infrastructure, and amenities across the selected sites to promote Tripura as a holistic tourism destination in the North Eastern region.
The Union Minister appreciated the concept of the Matabari Tourist Circuit and assured full cooperation from the DoNER Ministry in funding and facilitating various developmental components of the project.
Chief Minister Saha emphasised that the project, once implemented, would significantly strengthen the state’s tourism infrastructure, create employment opportunities for local communities, and attract a larger number of domestic and international tourists.
Officials said the meeting marked an important step towards transforming Tripura’s tourism potential through sustainable and integrated development initiatives.
