Three Tripura government employees suspended for flouting MCC
Agartala: Three government officials in Tripura have been suspended for violating the Model Code of Conduct during election to Tripura East Lok Sabha constituency.
A statement from the office of the Tripura Chief Electoral Officer confirmed the suspension of the three government employees for MCC breaches.
Among those suspended is Prabajika Roy, a teacher at Kulai SB School in Ambassa under Dhalai district of Tripura.
Currently on deputation to Lambuchara High School in Kamalpur subdivision under Dhalai district of Tripura, Roy was serving as the First Polling Officer for polling in Surma (SC) sssembly constituency.
She breached protocol by engaging with the media under the guise of representing a political party.
Consequently, she has been temporarily suspended from service based on the recommendation of the returning officer of Tripura East (ST) parliamentary constituency.
In addition, Sameer Ranjan Deb, a teacher at Bishalgarh English Medium School, and Rifleman (GD) Subhankar Debroy of the 10th Battalion of TSR, have also faced suspension for violating the election code of conduct.
