BJP, TIPRA & IPFT form committee for Lok Sabha elections in Tripura
AGARTALA: A coordination committee comprising leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), TIPRA and Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT) has been established for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections in Tripura.
The elections for the Tripura West Lok Sabha constituency and the by-election for the Ramanagar assembly seat are scheduled for April 19, while the voting for the Tripura East Lok Sabha seat will take place on April 26.
The three-member committee consists of BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee, TIPRA leader Pradyot Kishore Manikya and IPFT president Prem Kumar Reang, confirmed Animesh Debbarma, a senior leader of TIPRA and Tripura forest minister.
Debbarma elaborated that the decision to form the committee was reached during the inaugural meeting of the coordination committee comprising BJP, TIPRA and IPFT on Monday (March 25).
This committee will oversee all aspects of the election process in Tripura.

“To ensure effective coordination among the allies, senior leaders from the ruling BJP, Tipra Motha, and IPFT convened a meeting and devised a strategy for the upcoming elections to the two Lok Sabha seats and the by-election for the Ramnagar assembly seat," stated Tripura BJP president Rajib Bhattacharjee on Tuesday (March 26).
The meeting was attended by Tripura chief minister Manik Saha, state BJP president, TIPRA leader Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, and IPFT president Prem Kumar Reang.
Bhattacharjee emphasized that the BJP-led alliance would conduct a unified campaign across Tripura.
He disclosed that Biplab Kumar Deb, the BJP's candidate for the Tripura West Lok Sabha constituency, and Dipak Majumder, the candidate for the by-election, would file their nomination papers on April 27.
Additionally, Kriti Singh Debbarma, the BJP candidate for the Tripura East Lok Sabha seat, would submit her nomination on April 28.
