The project to lay underground power cables in Agartala has already commenced and will be executed in two phases: one under the Smart City project and the other by TSECL. This initiative will encompass both 11 kV and low-tensile lines.

“The preparation of the DPR is in progress, and financial planning is also being addressed,” stated Basu.

He further mentioned that TSECL has stationed power officials and linemen around the clock across the state’s 67 power sub-divisions.

Additionally, Basu shared that over 20,000 distribution transformers have been installed, with plans to replace some of them soon. Starting in the first week of August, maintenance work for Durga Puja will commence, which will include replacing transformers as needed.

TSECL is also enhancing the capacity of its call centers and will provide mobile numbers at the sub-divisional level to facilitate communication between residents and their local power offices for any issues or complaints.
