Speaking to the press, Debbarma disclosed that he has already approached Chief Minister Manik Saha regarding the issue.

"I am discontent with the departments I've been given. While the Forest Department is acceptable, I am not satisfied with the Printing & Stationery and Science & Technology portfolios, particularly with the exclusion of TREDA. I discussed this with the CM recently, requesting more significant departments to better serve rural communities. This is an open issue," Debbarma stated on Tuesday.

Debbarma, a seasoned politician with 22 years of experience, indicated his intention to visit Delhi soon to congratulate Amit Shah on his reappointment as Home Minister and to discuss his portfolio concerns.

"I have been in politics for over two decades. It is disheartening to see newer MLAs receiving more significant roles while my contributions are overlooked. I am not opposed to the government but I need to fulfil my duties effectively," he remarked.

Debbarma said, "I was elected as an MLA many years ago, served on the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) as an executive member, and led the opposition in the assembly. I urge the CM to assign me more important departments where I can contribute efficiently."
