Tripura Police nabs 4 Bangladeshi nationals, Indian tout in Gomati

Agartala: The Tripura Police on Wednesday detained four Bangladeshi nationals and an Indian tout at the Udaipur Railway Station in Gomati district.
The detained individuals include four Bangladesh nationals and a tout identified as Khokan Debnath, a resident of Odisha.
Debnath is accused of facilitating the entry of the Bangladesh nationals into India.
“We apprehended them early this morning at the Udaipur Railway Station. Khokan Debnath helped the Bangladeshi nationals in crossing the border illegally,” a police official said.

“During a search of the individuals and their belongings, 7,186 Bangladeshi taka and Indian currency amounting to Rs 44,000 were recovered,” he added.
The Bangladeshi nationals have been identified as Rupak Debnath, Jayanta Debnath, Chandan Debnath and Sushanta Debnath.
On being asked, the Bangladeshi nationals told reporters that they entered India with an intention to seek better job opportunities due to the problems they had been facing in their country.
