Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha has urgently contacted Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw amidst the fuel crisis gripping Tripura, seeking a prompt resolution to the state’s pressing issue.

The crisis escalated following a recent derailment incident between Jatinga Lampur and New Harangajao in Assam, causing disruptions in goods train services and exacerbating the fuel shortage in Tripura.

However, efforts to restore normalcy are already in progress.

Sources close to the Chief Minister revealed that Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha penned a letter to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw yesterday, emphasizing the critical need for swift measures to alleviate the petrol and diesel scarcity in the state.

“The Chief Minister is actively monitoring the situation and has received assurances from railway authorities regarding their commitment to taking necessary actions within the next two to three days,” stated the insider.

Furthermore, it has been disclosed that fuel trucks are currently en route to Tripura, with anticipated arrival tomorrow, offering hope for relief from the crisis looming over Agartala and the entirety of the state.
