Tripura floods: NDRF teams, resources dispatched for rescue operations
Agartala: In response to the devastating floods in Tripura caused by continuous heavy rainfall since August 19, the Central government has deployed additional resources.
The resources include helicopters, boats, and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams, to aid in the ongoing relief and rescue operations.
The flood so far has already claimed 10 lives, while over 34,000 residents have been displaced and are seeking refuge in more than 300 relief camps set up across the state.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, in a message on X (formerly known as Twitter), announced that he had spoken to Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha regarding the flood crisis.
He assured the state of the Centre's full support in this critical time.
“I spoke with CM Tripura, @DrManikSaha2, and took stock of the flood situation in the state. The Centre is dispatching NDRF teams, helicopters, and boats to support local relief efforts. The Modi government stands resolutely with our sisters and brothers in Tripura during this crisis,” Shah stated.

Chief Minister Saha also addressed the situation on X, expressing gratitude for the immediate assistance from the Central government.
He mentioned that eleven NDRF teams from Assam and Arunachal Pradesh would be sent to the state, and choppers would be arranged to evacuate stranded individuals from flood-affected areas.
He further confirmed that more boats would accompany the rescue teams to expedite relief efforts.
Saha praised the state’s machinery for working tirelessly to manage the severe natural disaster and extended his thanks to public representatives, social workers, and citizens for their cooperation during this challenging time.
