Tripura: Five "touts", three Bangladesh nationals detained

Agartala: Tripura Police, Government Railway Police (GRP), and the Border Security Force (BSF) have apprehended five suspected Indian touts for aiding Bangladeshi nationals in illegally crossing the international border.

During the operation, the police also apprehended three Bangladeshi individuals.

According to Tapas Das, Officer-in-Charge of the Government Railway Police, three Indian touts—Suklal Sarkar, Pradip Sarkar, and Biswajit Acharya—were arrested late last night from the Narayanpur area near MBB Airport.

Das stated that these individuals had been evading capture for some time and were involved in a human trafficking case. They are residents of the MBB Airport area and were accused of assisting Bangladeshi nationals in illegal border crossings.

In a separate development, the BSF reported that on August 27, they apprehended three Bangladeshi nationals in the Kaiyadepha area of Sepahijala District as they attempted to re-enter Bangladesh by breaching the border fence.

Following the detainees' information, a joint operation by the BSF and Tripura Police on August 28 led to the arrest of two additional touts involved in facilitating the cross-border movement of the Bangladeshi nationals.

The operation occurred in Ward No. 2 of the Indian village of Kaiyadepha.
