Tripura couple held in Assam while purchasing drugs
Agartala: A couple hailing from Tripura has been arrested in Assam for allegedly being involved in an illegal drug trade.
As per reports, the couple, identified as Bilal Hossain and a woman were apprehended by local police in Patharkandi, Assam, after allegedly collecting drugs from a "secret location".
As per police sources the duo, along with their child, had travelled to Patharkandi in an auto.
They were intercepted by the police based on information.

Police sources from Patharkandi Police Station revealed that the couple had acquired 10,000 Yaba tablets, neatly wrapped in black plastic packets, during their visit to a local secret dera in Assam.
The estimated value of the seized narcotics is around Rs 20 lakh.

The couple, residents of Kalamchora village under Sepahijala District of Tripura, was caught during a search operation.
The police have initiated an investigation under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act against them.
