Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha is set to actively participate in campaigning on Thursday (May 09) for BJP candidates in the Lok Sabha elections in West Bengal, as confirmed by party sources on Wednesday.

Sources from the Pradesh BJP said that approximately 20 prominent BJP leaders from Tripura, including the state's BJP president Rajib Bhattacharjee, are currently deeply involved in electoral activities in West Bengal.

Chief Minister Manik Saha's itinerary includes departing for Kolkata on May 9th, where he will address a BJP election rally in North Kolkata on the subsequent day, lending his support to party candidate Tapas Roy. His return to Tripura is anticipated either on May 10th or 11th.

“The significant presence of Tripura BJP leaders in West Bengal underscores the party's commitment and efforts in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections in the neighbouring state”, said a BJP leader.

He further informed that Tripura BJP's state president Rajib Bhattacharjee and party's general secretary Amit Rakshit have been assigned duties in Bolpur and Sreerampur Lok Sabha constituencies respectively, overseeing and spearheading the party’s election campaign efforts in those regions.

“Further strengthening BJP’s campaign in West Bengal, Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath is actively engaging in canvassing in Hooghly constituency, while also overseeing the party’s campaign strategy for the Lok Sabha elections in Haryana. Similarly, ARDD Minister Sudhangshu Das is dedicatedly involved in canvassing efforts in Baranagar Assembly Constituency. In addition to these efforts, former Transport and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury has also joined the fray, arriving in West Bengal today to bolster the party's poll campaign in the region”, said the source.
