Tripura CM orders strict vigil on Indo-Bangla border to prevent illegal entry
Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha announced on Tuesday that the state government is intensifying its surveillance of the international border with Bangladesh due to the current situation in the neighbouring country.
Saha emphasized that he is closely observing the developments in Bangladesh.
He has instructed all security agencies to ensure that no one crosses into Tripura from Bangladesh at this time.
In a statement to reporters, Saha mentioned, "I am in constant contact with the Centre. I have spoken with the Chief Secretary, Tripura Police, Assam Rifles, Border Security Force, and other security agencies to maintain vigilant monitoring of the situation in Bangladesh and the international boundary."

He added, "We are following the directives of the Central Government. Measures are being implemented in the border areas to prevent any unauthorized entry into Tripura. Currently, we will not permit anyone to enter the state. I have directed all security agencies to coordinate effectively to address any border-related issues. The Centre has requested a report on our situation, and so far, I have confirmed that Tripura is not facing any problems."

Saha also condemned the attacks on people, particularly the Hindu minority, in Bangladesh.
He noted, "Such incidents are unacceptable. However, it is heartening to see members of the Muslim community in Bangladesh stepping up to protect minority Hindus and temples. Students are also contributing to these efforts. This is a positive development. We are closely monitoring the situation in Bangladesh."
