Agartala: A Border Security Force (BSF) personnel was injured on Sunday after suspected smugglers pelted stones on him while on guard duty in Sepahijala, Tripura.

As per reports, Constable Tradesman Md Rahul Amin sustained serious injuries to his face and body after being attacked by the alleged smugglers on the night of February 3rd-4th in Tripura.

The incident occurred near the Border Outpost (BOP) Kullubari in Sepahijala district.

Amin, who was deployed at the border post, was reportedly attacked while on duty.

He was promptly evacuated and is currently undergoing medical treatment at GB Hospital.

According to BSF sources, the attack took place within the Sonamura subdivision of Sepahijala district.

The BSF has filed an FIR against the suspected smugglers, and an investigation is underway.
