Guwahati: The Border Security Force (BSF) and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have resolved a minor dispute regarding the construction of a retaining wall along the India-Bangladesh border in Muhurighat, South Tripura.

According to a BSF press release, heavy rainfall caused erosion near the base of a recently completed Single Row Fence (SRF).

To address this issue, a construction agency began building a retaining wall.

However, the Bangladeshi Border Guards raised objections to the construction.

A swift resolution was reached after a company commander-level flag meeting was held.

The Inspector General of the BSF Tripura Frontier, Patel Piyush Purushottam Das, spoke directly with the Regional Commander of the BGB to clarify the purpose of the retaining wall.

Following the productive discussion, the BGB agreed to the construction, and work on the retaining wall has resumed.

A BSF official emphasized the "robust mechanism" in place for resolving such issues between the two border guarding forces at all levels.
