Agartala: To fortify the "bond" between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the citizens of Agartala and ensure the comprehensive implementation of government-sponsored initiatives ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Tripura BJP is set to launch the 'Gaon Chalo Abhiyan' from February 7.

During a press conference, BJP State General Secretary, Amit Rakshit, emphasized that beyond electoral events, the Pradesh BJP remains committed to constant engagement with the public, actively participating in organizational activities at the grassroots level.

Rakshit articulated, "The prosperity of India is intricately linked to the prosperity of its villages, where approximately 70 percent of the population resides. The central BJP has initiated a special program called 'Gaon Chalo Abhiyan.' Across the country, with over 7 lakh villages, our focus is on strengthening public relations (Jan Sanjog), not only in rural areas but also in urban centers. In Tripura, we have strategically decided to carry out this initiative at the booth level, and our state comprises 3349 booths."

He elaborated on the plan, mentioning that senior leaders of the state party would visit each booth, dedicating 24 hours to intensively focus on public relations.

He added, "The 'Gaon Cholo Abhiyan' is structured in three phases. The preparatory phase commenced on January 20 and concluded today. In the second phase, leaders will dedicate 24 hours from February 7 to 11, and in the third segment, a survey meeting is scheduled for February 14, encompassing all the booths in the state."

"Senior leadership, including the Chief Minister and BJP state president, will visit different booths across various Assembly Constituencies. During these 24 hours, activities will include meetings with booth committees, scrutiny of voter lists, discussions with new voters and special individuals in these areas, as well as interactions with longstanding BJP party workers," he added.
