Agartala: Tripura Pradesh BJP president Rajib Bhattacharya said on Sunday that the recent discussions between Congress and Tipra Motha would not sway state politics or pose a challenge to the BJP, affirming that the party remains steadfast and prepared.

Following a meeting between Tripura Congress leaders and Tipra Motha, the principal Opposition party in Tripura, Bhattacharya addressed the media after PM Modi’s Mann Ki Baat.

He acknowledged being informed about the discussions through media reports but said that they hold no significant challenge for the BJP.

"The BJP is always prepared. Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi tirelessly works for development and the welfare of the people. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, the double-engine government remains committed to serving the people," Bhattacharya said.

He highlighted recent initiatives like the health insurance scheme launched by the Chief Minister, providing medical benefits up to Rs 5 lakh for all citizens.

The Tripura BJP chief reiterated the BJP's readiness and expressed gratitude for the continued support from the people, despite challenges faced during recent elections.

Responding to queries about ongoing dialogues with Tipra Motha within the BJP, Bhattacharya deferred to senior leaders for information. Reflecting on PM Modi's Mann Ki Baat, he shared his appreciation for the episode and its focus on serving society, particularly the most marginalized.

"It is my privilege to have listened to Mann Ki Baat alongside our dedicated karyakartas in Ramnagar," Bhattacharya said.
