The apex court asked ECI to publish the details, as it was received from SBI, on its official website by 5 pm on March 15.

The data shared by the poll panel reveals the purchase of now-scrapped electoral bonds of denominations between Rs 1,000 to Rs 1 crore, since April 12, 2019. The information also showcases purchases made by both companies and individuals

The SBI had submitted to the poll body the details of entities which had purchased the now-scrapped electoral bonds and political parties which received them on Tuesday evening, complying with the Supreme Court order to furnish the information.

In a communication to the media, the poll regulating body said the State Bank of India had provided the data pertaining to the electoral bonds to the commission on March 12.

“It may be recalled that in the said matter, ECI has consistently and categorically weighed in favour of disclosure and transparency, a position reflected in the proceedings of the Hon’ble Supreme court and noted in the order also,” read the press note.
