Tirupati laddu controversy: Animal fat found in ghee, sparks outrage
Guwahati: A recent lab report has revealed that the ghee used to make the iconic Tirupati laddu prasadam at Sri Venkateswara temple contained animal fat, including beef tallow, fish oil, and lard.
This has sparked widespread outrage and accusations of disrespecting religious sentiments, reports stated.

The report from the Centre of Analysis and Learning in Livestock and Food (CALF) lab found traces of animal fat in the ghee used during the previous YSRCP government's tenure.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has alleged that substandard ingredients were used, while the YSRCP has rejected these claims.
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), which manages the temple, is yet to comment.
