Manipur: India Team-B wins 7th International Women’s Polo Tournament

Imphal: India Team-B, represented by Manipur, clinched the title at the 7th Manipur International Women’s Polo Tournament after edging past South Africa 8–7 in a thrilling final at the historic Mapal Kangjeibung on Monday.

The tournament was hosted by the All Manipur Polo Association at Mapal Kangjeibung, widely regarded as the birthplace of modern polo. India Team-B (Manipur) received a cash prize of Rs 1.5 lakh for their victory, while runners-up South Africa were awarded Rs 1 lakh.

Four teams — Zambia, South Africa, India Team-A and India Team-B (Manipur) took part in the tournament, which began on January 28.

South Africa had earlier won the 6th International Women’s Polo Tournament, hosted by Manipur Tourism in association with the All Manipur Polo Association at the same venue.
