Assam: DMC wins 6-5 via tie-breaker in Sansad Khel Mahotsav

Dibrugarh: Dibrugarh Municipal Corporation (DMC) beat Hiloidhari Gaon Panchayat 6-5 via a tie-breaker at Assam's Chowkidinghee Playground in the men’s football final of the Sansad Khel Mahotsav on Thursday.
The scheduled time of the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
Saikhat Borgohain of Mancotta Gaon Panchayat was adjudged the Best Goalkeeper of the tournament, while Aditya Kaushik Rai of Hiloidhari Gaon Panchayat received the Best Player award.
A total of eight teams participated in the tournament.
DMC Mayor Dr. Saikat Patra, DMC Deputy Mayor Ujjal Phukan, Subhash Dutta (Vice Chairman of the Assam State Housing Board), DDSA President Niranjan Saikia, Secretary Kamakhya Saikia, and Working President Manash Jyoti Dutta, among others, were present during the prize distribution ceremony.
The Sansad Khel Mahotsav aims to identify and nurture promising sporting talents at the grassroots level while encouraging wider participation in both indigenous and mainstream sports.
It also seeks to instill the values of discipline, teamwork, and perseverance among young people — qualities that lie at the heart of nation-building.
